Möhlenhoff sets up production site in Poland

Salzgitter/Opole, January 2016. Möhlenhoff – the specialist for heating, ventilation and air conditioning solutions – is continuing to expand: The Salzgitter-based company has founded a new production site in Opole in Poland. This further strengthens Möhlenhoff's international presence and allows the company to manufacture on-site when catering for its local markets.

At the Salzgitter site, Möhlenhoff manufactures both for its European and international markets, such as China and the USA. It is here that the market leader for thermal actuators achieves the majority of its turnover with products "Made in Germany". However, Möhlenhoff also has certain products manufactured in China in accordance with German quality standards in order to meet price demands.

To support its continued growth in eastern Europe, the OEM has now set up a production site in the Polish town of Opole. This not only strengthens Möhlenhoff's international presence but also allows the company to manufacture directly for the local markets and extend its product range in the region. In the medium term, some fifteen employees are expected to work in the new factory where they will produce small runs of actuators.

By founding this new site in the historical capital of Upper Silesia, Möhlenhoff is responding to the dynamic rate of market change experienced over the last few years and setting its sights on continued growth. In this way the company is further increasing the flexibility of its production activities and strengthening its competitive position in the global market. This will also bring benefits to the 200-plus employees working at headquarters in Salzgitter. Möhlenhoff continues to prepare itself for the challenges of the future and consequently to protect jobs in its German parent plant.
